White Paper Conference at Surgeons Hall, Edinburgh

Catherine Wood was presenting at the "White Paper Conference" on Thursday 24th November at the Surgeons Hall, Edinburgh. The conference was titled ‘How to operate skillfully and advantageously within the Scottish planning system’.

The presentation was on the obligations and ‘To what extent is there a relentless growth in obligations placed by local government on new development i.e. developer contributions and is a consistent approach being applied?’.  Other current and topical discussions were provided by Neil Collar (Brodies) (Major proposals and call-ins), Robin Holder (Holder Planning) (Housing numbers), Michaela Sullivan (Cala) (Viability), Nicola Woodward (NLP) (Development plans), John Bury (Head of Planning at City of Edinburgh Council) (Place Making) and Nick Wright (Nick Wright Planning) (Community engagement). The conference was chaired by Fraser Carlin (Head of Planning at Renfrewshire Council) and attended by members of the development industry, consultancy, local government and statutory consultee officers.
