Strutt & Parker – Charity Tennis Day

Aug 15, 2017

Gladman Scotland was kindly invited to participate in the Strutt & Parker Charity Tennis Day at Perth Tennis Club on Friday 11th August. Gladman Scotland is keen to take part in charitable events as they are always for a good cause.

The pairings had been ‘drawn out of the hat’ in the office and the first team out was the ‘Deucebags’ represented by Michael Izzi and Luke Garrett. That meant that Michael Fletcher and Matthew Rose would make up the ‘Dos Serve Aces Por Favor’ team.

Luckily for the ‘Deucebags’ they were drawn in the opposite group to ‘Dos Serve Aces Por Favor’. It was obvious, the ‘Deucebags’ were keen to get back into the clubhouse to sample the refreshments, whilst ‘Dos Serve Aces Por Favor’ miraculously made it through to the quarter finals. Unfortunately, that was as far as the team could go and they were knocked out by the Strutt & Parker team, whom eventually went on to win the whole tournament.

Regardless of the pairings, the outcome probably wouldn’t have been much different. The two Gladman teams went head to head with ‘Dos Serve Aces Por Favor’ edging it in the ‘friendly’.

There were moments of brilliance across the Gladman pairings, unfortunately, they were often followed by some very erratic shots.

It is safe to say that it is highly unlikely any employees of Gladman Scotland will be challenging for a place at Wimbledon… well, perhaps one... he knows who he is.

Following the final and in true fundraising spirit, many bids and tickets were entered for the silent auction and raffle with an array of prizes on offer and this subsequently marked the end of a very enjoyable day.

Thank you to Strutt & Parker for hosting a fantastic event and well done to all those who entered.
